![]() The function of oil cylinder seals is to seal the gaps where oil spills out of the chamber and prevent dust, sand, and other dirt from entering the chamber. However, if installed or used improperly, it can easily cause oil leakage, affect the normal operation of the machine, and cause bearing burnout, gear damage, transmission shaft breakage, or other serious faults. Installation precautions for skeleton self tightening rubber oil seal (1) Before installing the oil seal, it is necessary to check whether the surface of the shaft neck is too rough, whether there are any scratches, especially whether there are any longer scratches along the axial direction. If the surface of the shaft neck is too rough, it is easy to damage the oil seal or accelerate the wear of the lip, which will damage its sealing performance. If the surface of the shaft neck is severely damaged by blunt impact due to improper disassembly and assembly, it will cause the oil seal lip to not fit tightly with the surface of the shaft neck, resulting in oil leakage. In the above two situations, the damaged area can be welded and re machined according to the specified journal size, or a new shaft can be replaced. If the shaft neck only has metal burrs or burrs on the shaft head, it can be smoothed with a file to prevent damage to the oil seal lip during installation. (2) Check the lip of the oil seal for any damage, breakage, or oil corrosion. If any of these defects are found, replace the oil seal with a new one. (3) When installing the skeleton oil seal, special installation tools must be used to prevent the lip of the oil seal from being stretched, deformed or scratched. If this tool is not available, the following method can be used for installation: first, roll a layer of transparent hard plastic film (commonly known as glass paper) around the shaft neck and even the shaft head, apply a small amount of engine oil on its surface, insert the oil seal into the shaft head wrapped in plastic film, evenly push the oil seal slowly to the shaft neck, and then remove the plastic film. Attention: Do not install the lip in the wrong direction, it should face towards the inside where the oil is stored, and the side with the trademark and specifications should face towards the outside. Because lips can only seal in one direction, if the oil seal is reversed, it will inevitably cause oil leakage, weaken or fail the sealing effect. To avoid tilting the oil seal or using tools such as hammers and sticks to randomly tap and hit the surface of the oil seal, otherwise it is easy to cause damage to the oil seal. (4) During the installation process, the oil seal (especially the lip area) and shaft neck area should be kept clean, and care should be taken not to let the self tightening spring of the oil seal jump out of the spring groove. If the self tightening spring becomes loose and its elasticity weakens, a section can be cut off depending on the situation, and the two ends can be securely connected before continuing to use. 2. Installation precautions for rubber water blocking rings The water blocking ring of the cylinder liner is an "o" - shaped rubber component with a circular cross-section. Compared with the skeleton oil seal, it has a simple structure, without a skeleton or self tightening spring, relying on the flexibility and elasticity of the rubber itself for sealing. If not installed properly, a large amount of cooling water in the water jacket will seep into the crankcase, causing oil deterioration, poor lubrication quality, exacerbating wear on various moving parts of the engine, and even causing major faults such as burning tiles and holding shafts. Therefore, the following precautions should be taken when installing the water blocking ring: (1) If the water blocking ring is too thin or the cylinder liner water seal groove is too deep, causing the water blocking ring to not be able to rise a certain height above the curved surface after being installed in the cylinder liner water seal groove, at this time, a layer of asbestos rope can be wrapped around the bottom of the water seal groove, coated with water-resistant calcium based grease, and then the water blocking ring can be inserted into the water seal groove, and the cylinder liner can be pressed into the seat hole of the engine body. (2) If the water blocking ring is too thick or the water seal groove of the cylinder liner is too shallow, the water blocking ring will protrude too much from the curved surface after installation. At this time, not only will it be difficult to install the cylinder liner, but it will also crush the rubber water seal or even break the cylinder liner. The rubber water seal can be evenly polished with a sandpaper until it protrudes to the appropriate height after being installed in the water seal groove. Then apply lubricating grease on the surface of the rubber ring to press the cylinder liner into the body seat hole. (3) If the thickness of the water blocking ring is uneven or the depth of the water seal groove is uneven, and the rubber ring protrudes unevenly after installing the cylinder liner, it should be carefully checked whether it is a problem with the rubber ring or the water seal groove, and the faulty parts should be replaced. (4) Before inserting the rubber stopper into the cylinder liner water seal groove, the rubber ring and water seal groove should be cleaned thoroughly, and impurities and dirt should be avoided during installation. After installing the cylinder liner on the rubber ring, it is necessary to carefully check whether there is any twisting, mud or groove detachment. Before installing the cylinder liner, carefully clean the dirt on the upper and lower bearing holes of the cylinder block, apply a layer of engine oil on the lower bearing hole surface, and then slowly press the cylinder liner into the bearing hole. | |
